Introduction
This center was established in Dolpa district under the name of Agriculture Nursery sub-centre, Dolpa under the supervision of Horticultural Farm Marfa, Mustang in the year 2032. When the Horticultural Farm Marfa was removed from the National Agricultural Research Council in the year 2050 Shravan and transferred to the Department of Agriculture. From that time, this center, which was a nursery sub-center of Horticulture Farm Marfa, was established as a new office under the name of Horticulture Center, Dolpa, and since that time, this center has been conducting its programs independently. With the aim of improving the living standards of low-income local farmers, this center has contributed to the work of increasing employment and providing income-earning opportunities. Due to the geographical structure of Nepal, apple cultivation and vegetable cultivation in the North Himalayan district, including Mustang, Dolpa, Jumla and Humla. There is a great potential for seed production. This center was given the specific name Vali in Shravan in 2061 and named Temperate Vegetable Seed Production Center. As soon as the country went to federalism, the name was changed from Temperate Vegetable Seed Production Center to Karnali State Government. It has been named Horticulture Development Center since the year 2076. The technical, financial and administrative functions of this center are under the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Directorate of Agricultural Development, Surkhet.
